Many LED manufacturers use aluminum housings for LED lamps. The aluminum casing is easy to dissipate heat, has a beautiful appearance, and is lightweight. For example, Apple's "Mac Pro" high-end computer series of notebook computers use an all-aluminum housing, which makes it easy for the notebook computer to dissipate heat, so that the computer does not even need to be equipped with a fan.

The aluminum housing of the LED can increase the life of the wick and make the LED lamp look beautiful. However, the aluminum lamp cup is relatively expensive to manufacture, and the production cost is very high. The lamp cup needs to be processed by a lathe. Therefore, some high-quality, medium-quality LED lamps will use aluminum lamp housings.

Another common LED lamp housing is a plastic housing. Due to the low cost of plastic shells, some low-end LED lamps will use plastic shells. However, plastic shells are not easy to dissipate heat, and plastics also easily melt and sublime to produce harmful gases when they are heated. Therefore, plastic casings are not used in Europe, North America and Japan. Due to the large-scale demand for cheap LED lights in some regions of China, plastic casings are sold in large quantities in China.

Unlike fluorescent lamps, LED bulbs are mercury-free. LED bulbs are also available in different colors. Compared with similar products, these LED lamps can provide the same luminosity, do not need ballasts, and generate much less heat than gas discharge lamps, making them suitable for indoor planting. Selection guide
